Professional Experience:
Jamie received training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 1995 at College of DuPage’s Cooperative Education Program. She worked as a therapist, senior therapist, and supervisor for nearly 4 years in the Chicago area. In 1997, she was awarded C.O.D. Student of the Year, for her work as an ABA therapist. Jamie founded PowerToolz in February of 2001. Seeing an overwhelming need for an ABA program in McLean County she started helping a couple families at a time. She currently has 10 years of experience in the use of ABA techniques to help children achieve developmental progress. She also uses this experience on methods of behavioral support programs for parents. She has managed all manner of child-rearing challenges with children of all abilities -- from potty training and picky eaters to sleep issues and tantrums. Her experience also includes two years employment, 2000-2002, at Easter Seals where she worked as a rehabilitation coordinator with children birth to sixteen years of age. In 2003, she opened PowerToolz as a private pediatric rehabilitation facility to central Illinois families.
