Professional Experience:
Stacey completed her student teaching experience at Central Institute for the Deaf in St Louis, MO and at Hillsboro Junior High School and Breckmeyer Elementary School in Hillsboro, IL. She worked with children in the areas of Hearing Impairment, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Social Emotional Disorder, and Behavior Disorders.
Stacey started her teaching career in an auditory/oral program at St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf at Carle in Urbana, IL in July of 2004. Stacey taught children with a hearing loss to speak, listen, and learn through spoken language. She started the year teaching in classrooms with children ages 3-6 years old. In February of 2005, Stacey started teaching a toddler group with children ages 2-3 years old. The toddler group consisted of structured activities that demonstrated strategies for creating opportunities to develop spoken language and listening skills in a playful context. Stacey also taught an individual therapy group which used sensory integration techniques to help children learn through spoken language.

Personal:
Stacey lives with her husband in Normal, Illinois. Special interests include teaching young children and spending time with friends and family.
