Changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.

How do I replace my mitre saw blade?

It should still easily fit a 5/8" blade. The arbor shape shouldnt have any effect on the type of arbor hole needed on the saw blade (only round arbor holes are made on saw blades. You will probably find the arbor securing nut has a shape that fits into the flat gaps between the saw blade and the arbor when fixed. So grab a 5/8" round arbor saw blade and give it a go. It should work fine. It is the arbor nut that secures the blade onto the arbor via friction which holds it on.Please rate this solution on FixYa!

I have a makita dual slide compound miter saw model number LS1016L and when I lock it in on the positive stops I can't get it to release to change the miter angle. What part needs to be replaced or is there something I can adjust to fix this problem. Also while trying to find the problem I overtightened the hex screw on the underside of the compression spring and broke the housing around the screw what is the part number for that and can I get a replacement?

How do you unlock 10" ryobi miter saw ? - Ryobi ZRTS1342L Factory-Reconditioned 14 Amp, 10" Compound Miter Saw with L

When you are facing the saw look on the right hand side in the area where the arm pivots. There will be a silver shaft with a groove just in front and slightly lower than the pivot. If you hold down slightly on the handle and pull out on this shaft it will allow the arm to lift up. Locking the arm down is reverse. The table binds when I rotate it to change miter settings. When I cut miters(45 degree) I'm not getting straight cuts along the edge. The saw is on a plywood base mounted to a Dewalt miter saw stand. I just changed the blade and cleaned real well. I have owned the saw 5 years. Problems started 3 weeks ago, in the middle of a trim project. I'm building boxes and trimming out the 4x4 posts on my pergola.

Could be the wear plates under the table between it and the base. Or if it doesn't have any then the two mating surfaces are dry and rubbing causing this problem I would suggest going to Dewaltservicenet.com and typing in your model number and downloading a breakdown for the tool. To remove the table on most saws you have to remove the fence and that requires that you square everything up upon disassembly. Let me know and I will try and help further. By the way to clean the parts I use a surface conditioner with something like a scrubbing pad and then after everyting clean use a dry silicone lubricant or equivelant.
