I purchased the new Ridgid tile saw named " The Beast". Initially it looked like a great saw buy after cutting a few ceramic tiles I began to notice that it cuts with a slight curve. I could not find any way to resolve this issue. I noticed that the motor/blade assembly which sits on an angle adjustment arm for angle cuts, has some free play. That free play is not something that I could find a solution for and I am wondering if that is causing this non linear cut. Ridgid tech support was no help at all either. Gave it back to Home Depot and I am wondering is I bought a dud and should try another unit.

Its either the speed of the blade ( mine came with its speed at half rate), or its the crappy blade they give you with the saw. If a cut is bowing your blade is having a tough time with material. This often happens with tough porcelain tiles and not using a porcelain blade.

Tile saw not cutting straight

Sometimes a blade that is set deep enough will walk in this manner, especially if it is a thin kerf blade like the MK Hotdog blade. Also, a blade which has worn unevenly will do this too.

Crooked cuts I have a 10" wet saw that has cut lots of tile in the last year and is in mint condition. I went to cut a peice of 12" marble and the blade starts to wobble as soon as it comes in contact with tile. It free spins true and I even went and bought a new blade. Starts to wander and blade flex as soon as it comes in contact with tile still. Blade is tight on arbor and water is flowing well. Have cut this same tile about a week ago with no problem. Also blade seems to be square with table. Any advice?

The bearings in your saw need to be replaced. I would contact a DeWalt store to obtain the parts or have them do the repair. You have an excellent saw there, well worth repairing. good luck.

Problems with Bosch T101BR 4 Inch 10 Tooth Jig Saw Blades

Hi, The reason for a down cutting blade is to see your cut on the finished side of laminates ( which include veneers, plywoods, plastics, formica . When using an upcutting blade on laminates the smooth cut is on the bottom, which you can not see till you are done and turn the work over. Reversing the teeth allows that smooth cut to be on the top. This is usually done on smooth flat surfaces as you have found out and does not work with orbital or tight scrolls. As far as the pushing or pulling, smooth cuts in laminates require the saw doing the work at a speed that allows the teeth to cut and remove material with biting. So if you are biting, (This is a much slower process than pushing your jigsaw through regular wood) check that you are not pushing too hard and that your blade is still sharp. Good Luck to you, this should Fixya!
