Circular saw engine question

It's important to choose a tool with a motor that is powerful enough to meet your needs. For example, a woodworker should choose a saw with enough power to cut through everything from wet lumber to dense hardwood. If the motor in the saw you select doesn't have enough power, the blade heats up and begins to dull. In addition to creating poor quality cuts, this can become a safety hazard if the blade starts to climb out and push the saw back towards the user. However, evaluating power from the motor ratings can be misleading. Amps indicate only the amount of electricity a motor draws, not the power it sends to the blade. Horsepower accounts for torque (rotational force), but not necessarily under working conditions. So be careful and ask the seller if this particular tool suits the work you want to be done.

Circular saw Types

There are for types of circular saws available. 1. Worm Drive - The motor is in line with the blade, delivering enough torque to carve up wet lumber or saw through concrete, which makes a worm drive ideal for framing or major renovation jobs. With the handle farther back, a user can better resist kickback and steer the 16-pound saw through long rips. 2. Sidewinder - The motor sits alongside the blade, making for a lighter (11 pounds or less) saw, which is more maneuverable over a long day than a worm drive. 3. Small Sidewinder - Weight, balance, and handle size are all key features to consider when choosing a saw that fits you. For a slight-bodied person, a small model may be more appropriate than a full-size sidewinder. 4. Cordless - Battery-driven models have increased in size as their power packs have gained voltage, making them convenient tools out in the field or when the electricity's not on. However, cordless models still have limited run times and generate less torque than corded saws. 5. Trim Saw - For finish work or paneling, this is your best choice. blades range from 3½ to 412 inches.

Tile Saws question

Since tiles are so thick, brittle, and made of ceramic, a special saw must be used. An ordinary circular saw for wood or metal would either break the tile or get so hot that it would seize up and stop cutting. However, ceramic tile is not cut well with sharp blades. The wet tile saw was invented to address all these unique properties of ceramic. It doesn't overheat, uses a relatively dull blade with no serrations, and can be transported to a job site and set up on top of an existing table or sawhorses.

Can I use my metal chop saw to cut wood if I replace the blade with a wood saw blade?

Its conversely sometimes possible if you was asking about a wood saw with a steel saw blade but i cannot advice that in both application its not safe because not only of the difference of power but most it is the much higher RPM by diameter, just beware always on the max rpm you can read on your saw blades!!, it can give strange accidents with objects it can grab and swinging outbroken parts away.
