I have a milwaukee jig saw, 6268-21 that I cannot load blades.

Yes the Milwaukee 6268-21 does require the use of certain jigsaw blades. You have to use T-shank type blades. You push the tension lever hold it while putting the blade in as far as it will go, then you release the tension lever slowly and it will engage the blade. You should then check by pulling on the blade to make sure it is seated properly and will not come out.

I have a rigid r3121 jig saw and I cannot get the blade straight. I use the quick connect but when it locks in place the blade is crooked. this is a new jig saw.

I was having the same problem and when I downloaded the manual, I realized I was using a U shank blade and the saw is designed for the T shank blade -- unlike the current Rigid model on display at the store that takes both! I bought T shank blades and they fit. Haven't cut with it yet, but it looks to be just fine.
