My tablesaw wont speed up and run. Bosch 4000 ten inch. It makes a klunk and starts to turn and slowly speeds up until its running, but still makes a knocking sound

Is it spinning the blade at all? If it is then it is unlikely to be an electrical fault. Have you considered a motor bearing fault? If the motor bearings are worn, it could turn freely by hand, but when powered up it would stutter and stall. The motor is basically a big electro-magnet so if the armature has enough lateral movement, when it is magnetized it could rub against the stator. If the machine is buzzing, but not spinning the blade it is more than likely going to be caused by a faulty capacitor as this is the component that gives the motor the initial 'kick' in the right direction to get it spinning.

Bosch 4000 tablesaw won't start. Brushes replaced

I found that the remaining problem was a intermittent at the switch, which disassembly and cleaning resolved. Tilting the motor / blade assembly down allows access from below, to the 3 screws fastening the controller circuit board cover on the brush end of the motor. From there, one can easily test exposed wires for power supply, see that brushes are contacting and clean accumulated sawdust.

I have a bosch 4100 tablesaw that wont start.I swapped the switch to a friends and it worked so i know its not my switch. Is there anything else it could be.Please list all possibilities so i can troubleshoot

Loose wires make sure all the connections are tight, sometimes things can work loose from all the vibration. Brushes If your saw has brushes in the motor, they may be worn enough that they won't work. here is what the brush cover might look like

What's the smart way to remove the motor for

I wouldn,t remove unless you think needs new bearings or cannot get to the brushes, turn upside down if has base cover remove and blow out best you can be sure no water in air line.

My LS1216 slide compound miter saws mitering table is stuck at 0 degrees it appears jammed although I've looked for something jammed stopping the plate from moving and see nothing, the handle locking mechanisim all seems to be working and I can see the positive rod draw back out of the 0 degrees stop when I press down the handle, the saw is only about 4 months old, never a problem before this, it's a great saw so far. the only thing I'm having trouble with is the miter portions Ric

Hello stella....... There is a locking mechanism on the miter saw to lock it on whatever setting you require. loosen that locking mechanism and the saw should move for you. Here is a schematic of the parts so you can see exactly which parts are involved Joe Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Bosch Miter Saw Turned On By Itself

A ghost in the machine? That sounds like a good one for Bosch tech support. I've never heard of any saw doing that, and I bet they'd be interested to know about it... All I can imagine is a short in the switch, some kind of power surge you weren't aware of, or a practical joke. At any rate: Contact Bosch:
