Frozen slide mechanism

I recently purchase the Makita 10" sliding miter saw and it worked fine the first couple of cuts. The last time the slide became frozen in the extended position. Are there any adjustments or recommended ways to loosen this up?

Slide mechanism jammed

Try squirting WD 40 all over the rails and into the bearings...Your bearings could have rusted in place and won't turn. Or maybe one is rusted and the other turns a bit...You could use a good pair of vice grips to remove that stripped screw.if that will give you better access..I haven't ever seen one jammed up like that though...Otherwise, you might look up the parts diagram and see what you're getting into there, if there's anything that could have broken off inside that's hanging up..link here.I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Makita miter saw has no power - Makita 10" Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Light LS1013F

Disconnect it from the wall outlet. Use a VOM set to continuity (i.e ohms) connect one lead to each of the power cords. Depress the start switch. If switch and circuits are good you should get either a low reading or just 0.0. IF you get no reading or really high reading the unit has an internal fault and more troubleshooting will have to be done.

Brand new miter saw/ran for 10 hours power was not consistent, then nothing

What part of the motor has blown? There is the armature and field coil and they won't always need replacing at the same time. There are brushes as-well, but as they are quite cheap I'm guessing you have been quoted on one or both of the motor parts to be replaced. Have you asked the repair guys for a report. They should be able to suggest a reason for what has blown and why by looking at the faulty parts. Although most manufacturers and service agents have discretion over warranty claims, if your machine is more than a few months over htere is almost definately noting you can do on the warranty side of things.

How do I remove the threaded rod from beneath the turn table of a Mikita LS1013 Slide Compound Mitre Saw ? I have removed the two black turning/tightning handles but cannot see how the rod is removed.

If you removed the handle from the rod you would need to put a pair of pliers on it gently and remove it. or if you turn it upside down and remove the tube from sliding mechanism you can grip the rod from there and unscrew
