How do you re-install the Skillsaw 5150 blade?

We removed the old blade (unfortunately we didn't pay close attention to how the old blade was in there to begin with), but when we re-installed the new blade there was no power when turned on. At first we thought the saw, since it is very old, just died; however, when we removed the blade and tested it the motor still ran fine. Is there some sort of lock we are missing when we re-installed the blade? We tried, at least what we think was, every variation on the position of the washers (I guess that is what they are) around the blade and still no power. I'm sure it is something very sim

How do you re-install the Skillsaw 5150 blade?

I,ve personally never heard of a problem quite like yours. I use skill saw brand saws every day and the arbor and washer will only make the blade wobble if installed incorrectly. Blades can be turned around to cut different types of material as well. Check to make sure the hole or diamond is the same on the new blade(you might have to punch it out) if its not seeding properly on the saw, you could also check under the guard to make sure nothing is binding the saw. The only other thing I could suggest would be to check the lock button (the one you hold to change blades, that stops the saw motor from turning) if that is stuck, your saw won't run. Good Luck!!

I have a new JET JWBS-10OS. I bought it rather than a scroll saw because it is more versatile, but I do need it for scroll work. I purchased a 1/8 inch blade and had trouble with the installation. The JET tech. I talked to said the problem was inferior tires. After several weeks delay I received two new tires and installed them. I still cannot get the 1/8 inch blade to track. After much time centering it on the new tires, and carefull adjusting the tracking knob, it continues to wander back and forth across the tire and ultimately comes off. Also, the bearing guides do not have sufficient adjustment to accomodate the 1/8 inch blade. Is this saw really designed and built to work with a 1/8 inch blade?

Hi,I'm not a Jet tech, just a bandsaw owner.First, when you are adjusting the tracking knob, are you turning the wheel by hand for several revolutions to be sure which way it is running before making another adjustment? After tweaking it, you should turn it a bit to let it settle in. Also, be sure to tighten the adjustment knob down before turning it on. The bearing guides have more adjustment places than just the finger adjusters. On mine, a Steel City, I can move the entire guide holders back and forth, and can also move the entire guide set up back and forth. The guides are there to keep your blade from having too much movement while cutting. They are not supposed to actually touch the blade though. I adjust mine with a dollar bill between the guide and blade. If you have one guide that isn't exactly perfect, don't worry about it. The blade guard will also keep the blade from wandering.I've never used my bandsaw for scrolling work, so am not familiar with the 1/8 inch blade. Should work if you can get your tire adjusted correctly.Good luck.I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a vote or comment. Thanks,Handie Andie

How to reinstall saw guard on Mac Allister MAC185LS?

Never heard of this brand of saw. A Google search indicates that MacAllister only makes big earth moving equipment. Otherwise, most saws have an appropriate washer and retaining clip that holds the guard on. And you'll need the original spring to return the guard to the closed position every time you use it. Then there are two shaped washers that fit on the armature that have a 5/8" shoulder to fit a normal saw blade. Finally there is the nut that holds everything on. Hope you didn't lose all these parts. If you did, go to and and enter your make and model. If they don't have what you need you might be plum out of luck. But a new saw.

Northern Tool 10" compound miter saw. How do I change the blade?

Remove the power cord from the socket in the wall first if there is a small hole in the blade , place a phillips screw driver in that hole and turn until the driver is locked against the depth guard use the correct size spanner /socket and undo the spindle nut holding the blade on if there is no hole ,then place the screw driver in the teeth of the blade to lock it the motor will spin so that the teeth cut against the direction of cut ( up into the guard or up through the depth guard ( blades normally have a arrow for rotation direction) tighten the spindle nut and if no hole in the blade use a hammer and hit the spanner with a hard rap

Problem finding blade choices for Makita circular saw

OK done some more checking and I believe you are out of luck, but before giving up hope do you have a saw sharpening business in your area?? My friend says that he has sent blades to one in my area and had the center hole bored out to the appropriate arbor hole and the blades run true and from what he tells me it is relatively cheap, so check first and see and then you can buy a blade in the diameter you want and have it bored out. Sorrry I couldn't come up with anything else, I check about 6 diffferent mfrs and they all have the same.

Having problems with using the blade tilt handwheel. First of all it is not easy to turn whent the blade is close to 0 and between 30 to 45. As the wheel is pulling the blade toward 45, the rod pulls the wheel to make contact with the side of the housing and starts to file it down. There does not seem to be any way to keep the wheel in one place. When it is pusing the blade to 0 it extends away from the housing and when its pulling the blade to 45 it moves inward and makes contact. Could it be just a lubrication issue?
