Milwaukee Sawzall problem

My milwaukee sawzall, model # 6523-21 keeps spitting out sawblades. I can cut for about 10 seconds and then the blade comes out. I've replaced the quik loc component, but that hasnt fixed the issue. My problem is that I've had several of these saws and this seems to be an issue with all of them over time.

Milwaukee Sawzall problem

Some blades do not actually insert far enough in the lock even though they look identical. You can file the widest part at the hole end. Not the small leg but the flat part before the little guide leg. Filing this will allow the blade to insert deeper and will allow the lock pin to engage the hole on the blade. You don't need to file much maybe 1/64 ish.

I have a Milwaukee sawzall 6509-22 with a quick loc cam. Blade went in fine, but now the saw wont release the blade to come out. How do I fix this problem. Note: locking cam is turning fine

K you used the saw after inserting blade?? If so couple ideas, hold collar open and put saw blade in a vise and try pulling back on saw, or you can remove the quik lok cam and release it that way, its not that hard, but I would try vise first. Let me know

I have milwaukee 6535 sawzaw that has no power it won't cut fast, touching the material stops the saw. what could be the problem?

Hi, Well to be honest, I don't know either, not a typical failure mode. This model is equipped with several electronic features that could be at fault, which would require tearing it apart to troubleshoot. These saws do have a 5 year warranty and I think I would use it if possible. If you are unsure of the warranty period call in the serial number. 1800sawdust.

Does 6509-31 sawzall have thermal overloads - MILWAUKEE ELECTRIC TOOL CORP Milwaukee 6509-31 12 Amp 3/4" Sawzall Reciprocating Saw

No the 6509 does not have a thermal overload. Start by checking the brushes & brush springs then test the switch & cord It is possible you burnt the armature out but brushes, switch, or cord is more likely.

The motor is shorted plain and simple. I would just replace it. Buy a Dewalt, they are a better made drill/driver.

Blade Slips Off

My blade was coming off like described above and I just fixed it. The wheels that hold the blade should not wobble on their axles. If they wobble you need to tighten the axle screw on the opposite side from the wheels. The drive wheel is easy, you can see it. The front wheel is more trouble to get to, because the screw is covered by the blade tensioner housing. You will have to remove the front wheel and the tensioner to slide the housing forward to get to the axle screw. You will need various sizes of torque screwdrivers and there is a small snap-ring holding the wheel on the axle. It's simple job and only took me about 20 minutes fiquring it out as I went.Next time I might just drill a hole through the tensioner cover to insert a screw driver. The screws are the same on both the front and rear wheels. But, it's fixed now and works great again.
