Delta table saw, 34-670, keeps shutting down

There could be several problems. First, make sure you have a sharp blade. Then check the arbor for drag just after you have been using it. Unplug it, lift the motor a bit (to loosen the drive belt) and turn the blade with your hand - it should turn very freely. Check the motor shaft for drag too by turning the motor pulley with your hand (with the belt loose). The motor should have just a tiny bit more drag than the arbor shaft. If all of these check out ok, then you might have an insufficient gage of wire between the electric panel and the saw - a thin wire long extension cord is often a problem. If you are using an extension, try to eliminating it and plugging directly into the wall. (It depends on the length, but in general don't use a cord lighter than 14 ga - higher numbers mean skinnier wire). And it could be that the house wire is too light - a long run of 14 gage wire is too light - you want 12 gage wire and a 20 Amp rated outlet. If all of these are not the problem, then you have a bad motor that is partially burned out (that is, the insulation on the coil windings has melted and the coil wires are shorting out resulting in coils with a lot less turns than the motor was designed for. You can replace the motor or get it re-wound. Good luck!

Motor not working on Delta table saw: I just got a used Delta table saw for free, the previous owner said the motor wasn't working. I wonder if it could just be a switch... how could I check that? I also wonder if I could just replace the brushes... again, how would I check that? Finally, if I do need to replace the motor, what do I need to do? Saw is a direct drive (no belt).

Ok, the motor turns, but throws sparks on the brushes. This is normal to an extent for universal motors used on that type of equipment.Try reassembling the saw, and put a blade on it, then try it. If it runs, try cutting a piece of scrap 1x, both crosscut & rip. If the motor can't hold the load, you may still have to replace it.

I have a delta 34-444 table saw, is it a right or left tilt, or how do i find out?

Left-tilt, right-tilt refers to the direction the top of the blade can be tilted when it is not straight up and down. There will be an indicator on the front of the saw, normally pointing to zero. When you adjust the blade away from zero, if it tilts to the left, it is a left-tilt saw.

Cuts not square-bevel adjustment

Here's something to try. Get a dial indicator or a drop indicator to measure the blade wobble. Clamp the indicator to your miter gage or use a magnetic base or whatever. Position the indicator so that it contacts the side of the blade as near the outside diameter as possible, then rotate the blade by hand. If there is any warp to the blade, or bend in the arbor, or something out of square where the blade mounts on the arbor, this will pick it up. If that is all good, maybe you have a couple of teeth that were miss-sharpened and are sticking out to the side more than they should (causing a virtual wobble at the tooth end). You could position the indicator on the side of a tooth, then slowly rotate the blade backwards looking for the max reading on each tooth. You should repeat this on the other side of the blade too. Total wobble should only be a few thousandths. Good luck!

Delta Side Kick table saw will not start,

If there is no response at all, check the circuit breaker on the motor. There is a heat triggered breaker there. That is the most common cause of this. If that is not the case, please update this and we'll look further. Dan

Can I mount a Delta 36-T30 T2 30-Inch Fence and Rail System on my

I just installed a Delta T2 fence on my 10" Craftsman Table Saw. It's 27" deep. The bushing either could be relocated or you could use spacers on the front, back, or both on the saw to get the required distance. Also, you'll have to drill new holes, however, I used one of the existing holes in the front and back of my saw as well.
