8 inch delta band saw that cant keep the band in place in use

The rubber bands on the metal wheels are called tires, and if they are cracked, they may very well be crowned and causing the problem with the band coming off.To test, remove the back guide (as opposed to the side guides) on the top and bottom guide sets (above and below the table.). Put a blade on, and see if it will stay on. If it doesn't, replace the tires. If it does, reinstall the back guides and make sure they do not touch the back of the blade when the saw is running. There should by about 1/32" between the guide and the blade.

I have a Delta 36-600 contractor saw that has been a great performer for the past 10+ years. But now it's got a problem that we can't figure out or fix.I work primarily with acrylic plastic. The problem started with resistance when cutting and the signs of a worn belt. Replaced the belt but the "bogging down" continued. Thinking perhaps the bearings were worn out in the original motor, we replaced the motor with a new direct driven, no belt, motor. Still boggs down. Upon further inspection we noticed that the drag was caused by the material binding the rear of the blade. Enters the blade fine but as the material exits the blade, it is pressing against the rear of the blade. The largest piece I cut is 24" square and it can be tough to get the entire length through. Checked the alignment of the fence and it was only slightly off. Aligned the fence and the material still binds the rear of the blade. We have tried a variety of blades (designed for plastics) that worked fine before, plus newly sharpened blades and brand new "non-melt" blades for plastics. After making several adjustments and no fix, it is the theory of my "saw specialist" that the problem lies with the acrylic, expanding due to heat. He believes the problem has to be with the material...something has changed in the composition... because there is nothing more to check or replace on the saw. I'm not convinced. I've checked the material and the blade after cutting and neither are hot. In addition, I've cut other material and the rear of the blade still binds. Plus, when trimming/cutting small pieces, 5" in width, once it cuts I can exit the blade from the front instead of the rear. After cutting these small pieces they clear the front of the blade fine but will not clear the rear of the blade without binding. If the acrylic is expanding after cutting and his theory is correct, shouldn't it also bind these small pieces in the front? I think how the blade is contacting the material is out of alignment. Any ideas on what's causing the binding of material, rear of the blade only? What is left for us to check?

Use an compressed air to cool plastic as it passes through rear of blade. This will also remove debris and cool material.

I bought a delta scroll saw model number 40-540, the blade was broken. I need to know how to change the blade and what type of blade the saw takes. Thank you

Your delta scroll saw has two blade attachment points one under the table and one in the arm. attach under the table first and then in the arm. that way you can be sure to adjust the tension properly. there are only two styles of scroll saw blade, those with pins and straight blades without pins look carefully at your saw and you will be able to see which type holder you have

HOW DO I CHANGE THE BLADE ON A 36-070C MITRE SAW

Not sure about the Delta. I've had both a Craftsman and a Dewalt. On both of those, the pivoting plastic guard pivots on a plate on the side of the metal guard. The plate isnt easy to see. You rotate the plastic guard all the way open and you see the edge of the plate held in place by a screw. Remove the screw and the plastic guard and the hub along with the plate it's mounted on can lift up an half inch or so--far enough to get the blade screw off the arbor. There's a push button somewhere that locks the blade from turning so you can turn the screw in the center of the arbor with a wrench.

I have a 10"DELTA Miter Saw and need to change blade. Please describe how to remove and replace blade. Thanks

Without a model number I cant look for this saw, but if it is like the other mitre saws that I work on, the lower guard should have a bolt holding it in place, loosen the bolt so you can move the guard and the blade bolt is usually LH thread, on the backside of the gearcase by the blade there should be a spindle lock, rotate blade until it locks and then remove bolt. If your saw is different please give me the model number and I will pull up a schematic and look at it.

Where can I get a 12V manual reset relay which requires reset after a power failure during the on setting?

Get an ordinary 12v single pole relay. Connect your 12v battery source to one side of the coil (-) and one of the contacts (+). Then connect the other side of the coil (+) to the other contact, and your output cable across the coil. Of course, nothing happens until you connect a pushbutton switch ACROSS the two open contacts. When you make that switch, you power the relay, and it stays powered when the contacts close. It's called a "seal-in" relay. When you interrupt the battery power, the relay falls out and won't pull in again until you hit the reset switch.
