Suggested Questions And Answer :

Is there a way to adjust the set pin to get a true 90 degree bevel?

Set the blade at the built in 90 degree lock, now use a square and adjust the fence (usually two bolts visible on top of the fence) to the blade at 90 degrees....there are some shops which offer this service under a "tune-up" or calibration.

I have just gotten my Hitachi 10'' compound mitre saw (C10FCE2) out of the box, and have disengaged the packing pin, and put on the stabilizion bar and handle. I can not seem to get the blade to tilt back to perpendicular with the table surface. I have loosened the one exposed bevel screw (hegagonal in the front) but that doesn't seem to help. The tilt handle will not move. What am I missing?

The hndle at the front is for your mitre. there should be one at rear of tool to bevel (COMPOUND) IT SHOULD HAVE A HANDLE AS WELL possibly left hand thread !

I did a 45 degree bevel cut with my Dewalt portable table saw and now I can not get the blade back to a 90 degree position, any thoughts?

Did you check to see if the saw has a locking nut on the front of the bevel gauge handle? Its possible you just locked it into position and forgot to unlock.

I have a craftsman radial arm saw 113.23100 which has not been used for possibly 20 years. I cannot get the motor to rotate in order to make 45% angle beveled cuts. I have turned the bevel lock knob to the left but cannot locate a "bevel index knob" only a latch pin handle. Where is this bevel index knob?

My craftsman 10-inch radial saw (model#113.199200) just stopped working. I had it in the driveway cutting some wood without any problems. It sat for a half hour and I went to use it again and it was running half speed then before I could even turn it off it just died. There was no popping sound or smoke, nothing! It will not start. Need help, please?

My LS1216 slide compound miter saws mitering table is stuck at 0 degrees it appears jammed although I've looked for something jammed stopping the plate from moving and see nothing, the handle locking mechanisim all seems to be working and I can see the positive rod draw back out of the 0 degrees stop when I press down the handle, the saw is only about 4 months old, never a problem before this, it's a great saw so far. the only thing I'm having trouble with is the miter portions Ric

Hello stella....... There is a locking mechanism on the miter saw to lock it on whatever setting you require. loosen that locking mechanism and the saw should move for you. Here is a schematic of the parts so you can see exactly which parts are involved Joe Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Macallister mitre saw sparking

I would plug it into another outlet first. The small arcing that you see might be normal especially on stopping because of the brake. If another outlet doesn't work then I would take it back. Upon startup this saw will draw more than the rated running amps.

I had to disassemble the tool-less blade clamp on my Ridgid reciprocating saw. When I reassembled it the retention pin no longer moves back and forth when I flip the blade change lever (not sure if that's the correct nomenclature). I have repeatedly disassembled and reassembled the blade clamp trying to get the pin to work, but to no avail. I am obviously missing something in my understanding of how this device is supposed to work, but the solution isn't obvious to me. I do not think that I lost any parts (hopefully) but based on what I am looking at I cannot tell what would even cause the pin to move. It just sits in its hole, the only spring is a coil that sits on the outside of the mechanism that seems to allow the blade clamp to return to its original position when the blade change lever is released. I hope this is enough info. Thanks in advance for your help.

The spring loaded clamp sleve mechanically holds the blade pin down to hold the blade in place. It doesn't pull it up to release the blade but simply lets the pin float freely so the blade can be removed.
