If you're lucky, there's a circuit breaker built into the table saw motor and a little red button somewhere on the motor to reset it. When you re-wire it. know that the cord should have a black wire (hot), a white wire (neutral), and a green wire (ground). When you wire the power cord to the switch, the black wire should be the one that goes directly to the switch contacts and gets disconnected when you turn off the switch. The white wire goes through the rest of the system up to the motor. The green wire grounds out the metal parts that you might touch. If you have to replace the motor, get a 3450 rpm to 3600 rpm motor. Harbor Freight has one for about $140 before any discount. I recommend at least 1.5 HP

I have a craftsman table saw model 113.27870. I need a table insert for a dado blade. I looked on the sears website and it said parts for this saw are no longer available. Will a table insert for a newer model craftsman table saw work or could I adapt one to work on this saw?

I would use mdf to create another throat plate and then slowly bring up the dado to create a zero clearance...throat plate will need to be held down while you come up with the dados..

Bosch 4000 table saw won't work

OK sounds like you are handy. You have electric to the brush tubes? (first unplug saw to test) If yes then I would remove the brushes to see if they were making contact with the commutator. Does the blade spin freely? If not you might have a bearing problem. I would again use air after removing the brushes and then reinsert making sure they seat on the armature. If still nothing then if you are comfortable I would pull the motor housing. But before pulling go to Bosch Tools website and downloading a breakdown of your saw. Let me know if I can help

Electric brake doesnt work unless off switch hit really hard.doesnt switch on sometimes

Sounds like a faulty switch. before removing write yourself or take a photo of where the wires go. Also check the condition of the brushes, if they are too short the brake won't work either.

1 HP. motor wiring, need help!

Simple to do. Go to the local hardware or home improvement store and get a 6 to 8 foot heavy-duty extension cord. Cut the outlet end (not the Plug end) off, you won't use it. Strip back the outer casing of the cord to expose the three wires, black, white and green. The Green wire is connected to frame of the motor or saw to ground it for safety reasons. The White wire is connected to the silver color screw connection. The Black wire is connected to one terminal of the switch, another wire is connected from the second switch terminal to the brass color screw on the motor. Plug in the extension cord, and flip "ON" the switch and cut some wood and think of your Grandpa....good guy!

When I used grandfathers old table saw with ungrounded cord. It worked fine, I then plugged a jig saw into same outlet. It worked fine. When I laid the jig saw on the table saw there was a spark a

Check the plug that goes into the outlet. On modern plugs, one prong is taller than the other. The taller is the "ground" leg - the other is the "hot" leg. I bet that you just need to flip the plug over so that the other prong is in the "ground". If this works - mark the "ground" leg (or replace the plug with a newer one that has a taller "ground" leg).
