High vibrations & pinion looseningin 4" angle grinder

Could be couple things the wheel is out of balance or out of round causing the vibration, the armature shaft could be bent causing this also the bearings could be bad. One last thing to look at is the fan on the armature to make sure not cracked or missing fins. Let me know the model and brand and I will look further

The blade nut on my Ryobi 10" miter saw is too tight for me to loosen, so I can change the blade. I'm turning the hex wrench clockwise and holding in the blade lock. I don't see rust or anything else that might cause the nut to seize up. Can I use WD-40 to loosen the nut? Last time the blade was changed was in the repair shop. Did they just get the nut on really tight? I don't want to damage the saw, and I don't want to pay the shop just to loosen the blade.

Hello daobrien,Not to worry, I think I can help you with your problem. You can try the WD-40, but first try the following. (Sounds like the repair shop wants you to come back.) First what I recommend is that you use your adjustable Vise Grip pliers and clamp it to the front of the blade. If there is a plastic shroud in the way, you may have to remove it temporarily. Doing this may give you enough leverage to loosen the nut. Apply the WD-40, then try to twist off the nut. The idea of using the pliers is allow you to not have hold the brake lock and give you the ability to apply enough torque to do the job. I have done this same thing when my framing saw nut was on to tight and it worked for me. Let me know if this is successful for you. If you would, please a positive feedback for me. I will very much appreciate it. Good luck! :o) Regards, NormanZ

I can't find the lock nut tool

You should be able to use a wrench, unless you have the style that needs a spanner (ring with 2 holes in it). Then, you will need the wrench to fit it. I made one with a piece of 1/8" flatbar and 2 #10 bolts. It isn't pretty but it works.

I can't get the wheel to my grinder loose. The locking nut barely locks. Is there any tricks to loosening it up and getting the wheel off so I can put a new and better one on. I don't know if I shouold put some WD-40 on it or what? Please help me Drew

You should have a pin spanner wrench that fits into the holes on the lock down nut. Hold the shaft with a open end wrench that fits the flats on the shaft. If you dont have the spanner wrench, use a drift punch to tap the lock down nut to loosen.

Lock nut on Makita 9069 is stuck & I can't loosen it. Using the lock nut wrench, but it won't budge. Any suggestions?

Make sure you are turning wrench and nut clockwise to remove nut and counterclock to put back on,you will never get nut off if turning counterclocwise, threads pitch is opposite to screw pitches. You are tightening and did not know it maybe??? Other option: Need to put lock nut wrench in a vise jaw and clamp, then place tool on wrench and press down and turn. This should give you added leverage to break loose nut,and btw make sure to turn clockwise to unscrew and clockwise to tighten, this is opposite of what you might do to tighten or untighten

New grinder cannot release lock nut to get blade on

I have trouble breaking makita parts loose. you will probably have to hit it. tap the bottom with a hammer to break rust or whatever loose. don't damage the shaft or nut. you may have to have someone help hold it while you put some muscle on it. good luck
