Suggested Questions And Answer :

I bought a Dado blade set dd208 and there are no instructions

I'm hesitant to even answer, not knowing your skill level. But understanding that you will probably have a use for an item you purchased, and use it one way or another, here's a primer... Be careful! Never push your hand directly toward the rotating saw such that if the workpiece kicks back your momentum will carry your hand into the blade. Begin by raising the blade only a little above the table surface and run a pass with clean wood over it to get the feel of the resistance a stack of dado blades gives. Consider making a groove in two or more passes if you need to raise the blade more than 1/4" to cut it in a single pass. Use metal dado shims to adjust the precise width of cut. Tighten the stack in a balanced way, such that the carbide teeth are not in contact with one another. Stay away from wobble dado sets. Etc. Etc. Etc. You may wish to have a look at this website, whose author has obviously given the subject considerable thought: http://www.newwoodworker.com/usngstkddados.html Finally, be carefull. If you think a single saw blade can tear flesh, imagine what a 3/4" wide swath will do to your hand. Think about your setups. Use test pieces to get them right. Then pay attention while you run your dados. And try to avoid plunge cuts, especially on anything shorter than a couple of feet in length. When you can, use a miter jig in the slot to hold any work you have to pass cross-grain over the dado. Be careful, feed smoothly, and hold your workpiece firmly against the fence while it passes over the blade.

How do I assemble freud dado blades - Freud Stack Dado Saw Blade Set

Asembling dado blades really comes down to the type, dimensions of your dado cuts and how you set up your fence system. The blades come with spacers that allow the cut to be expanded or contracted. you add in the required spacers and blades to make up the required room you have/need.

I bought a Dewalt DW310 reciprocating saw and there seems to be no way to install a blade. The instructions show a wheel to turn to unlock the blade chuck but the wheel is up inside the saw body where you can't get to it. The instructions show it accessible for turning with the fingers but it isn't. What's up with this??

The blade clamp collar is a spring loaded knob of sorts that holds the blade in place. If you are not able to pull the blade shaft out of the saw to get at it, plug the saw in and hit the on/off trigger a few times to get the shaft and knob out of the body of the saw. Once you can get at the knob it should be easy to turn it and insert a new blade. Let me know if you have problems.

I bought a second hand Power Devil Mitre Saw PDW 5013. It has no instruction manual and I need one.On starting up the saw, the blade spun but sounded terrible, loud and not right. On trying again, several times, the blade does not spin straight away, but after a second or two the blade does spin, but the saw doesn't sound quite right. Is it a problem with the motor? Could it be that the brushes have gone? Could the motor be faulty or broken? Or could it be a problem with the blade? Could the blade be slipping?

Try the blade first. It should be tight and have no real wobble to it. Although my first guess would be the brushes, These are generally accessible from the outside. There is often a number or something to identify the brush so that you can get a proper replacement pair. If the motor starts right away and the blade does not then the blade is loose. re- reading your post it could well be the blade. Often these are reverse threaded, so you tun them clockwise to get it off. You may well want a new blade anyway, and there are different types for different jobs. Watch your fingers and unplug the saw when messing with the blade- it is easy to hit the switch when undoing the blade.

I need instructions on removing the front housing so I can replace the Blade Set on my 8.5 amp Professional reciprocating saw Model 172.267700. I have the replacement part, I just don't want to take it apart the wrong way. Guy

Hi again Guy, It is easy to overlook the obvious, I do it a lot. There are two allen screws in the rubber boot at the front bottom that need to be removed to release the foot (or shoe), which should slide out the end. Then the whole boot ( forward hand grip) pulls off the end exposing the assembly you need to replace. Good Luck to you, this should Fixya!
