Porta Band saw blade jumps off

Model 724 Rockwell Porta Band saw has a problem keeping the cutting blade on. It walks off the saw during operation. Tried new blade - same problem. Reversed rubber drive belts - same problem. I don't see a tracking adjustment on the saw.

Porta Band saw blade jumps off

I had this problem on a used model 725 that I bought. Apparently the rubber tires on the drive wheels develop a bit of a memory after sitting for a while with tension on the blade. I tried cleaning the tires to no avail. Then I removed both tires, flipped them over and re-installed. Still not fixed. Then I put only one back to the original position and the problem was solved. Other than the frustration of trying several times, I was out nothing and I got quite proficient at taking the blade in and out. The saw has worked fine ever since. I hope this simple (and free) solution works for you.

Just purchased a 6230 porta band saw and the blade keeps jumping off. Put the blade back on and as soon as you touch the material the blade jumps off.

Could be a couple problems, first the blade could be bad, the tires that are on the wheels, a loose axle bolt or the frount housing might be bent. First try another blade and watch for which pulley it rolls off of. Next try to wobble the pulleys and if you can the axle bolt has loosened, I use an impact driver to lock them in place along with loctite. Next if the above are OK check the front housing for being bent (that is a common thing) from the housing hitting after cutting a piece of steel. Let me know if you need more assistance.

8 inch delta band saw that cant keep the band in place in use

The rubber bands on the metal wheels are called tires, and if they are cracked, they may very well be crowned and causing the problem with the band coming off.To test, remove the back guide (as opposed to the side guides) on the top and bottom guide sets (above and below the table.). Put a blade on, and see if it will stay on. If it doesn't, replace the tires. If it does, reinstall the back guides and make sure they do not touch the back of the blade when the saw is running. There should by about 1/32" between the guide and the blade.

Saw blade jumpes off at motor pulley on horizontal band saw

It is probably not tracking. you need to back off the guides, get the blade to track in the center of the tire by hand. Then torque it up a bit till it twangs, Then pull the guides up the blade and just touch it, don't push it at all, the bearings too. This should track and not jump off. If it does, then one of your wheels is out of whack, check them with a straight edge with the blade set. See if they are in line. One of the bearings could be bad. Check it out.

I have just purchased a second hand Morgan Meat Band Saw. The blade sems to keep jumping off and I can't get it to stay on. Was wondering if you have a manuel for this type of band saw. The length of blade is 2085mm, width of blade 16mm, max width cutting 210mm and max thickness cutting 240mm. Hope you are able to assist in some way. Cheers.

You must use a level to determine the wheels are perpindicular straight up and down evenly. The wheels do have adjustment to loosen to angle the position correctly as all band saws do

1/8'' blade keeps jumping off wheels on Ryobi BS 900...!! Checked wheels for alignment and both are square to each other. TRension seems right, although I can't find manual to confirm proper tension. Guides are ''just kissing'' the blade and bearings are about 1/16'' from back of blade. Any thoughts?

I found a manual online, however it did not give specifics on blade tension. I do know that the blade has to be pretty tight and that it the blade should be just touching the bearings on the back. I hope this is enough help, if not let me know and I'll see what else I can do.
