What I would do is clean area with air (wear safety glasses) then I use a spray type of dry lubricant on the threads and also the plates that the motor slides on. You can also use WD-40 in a pinch. Hope this helps

Blade Alignment? While ripping a piece of wood on my Dewalt 744 table saw the blade and splitter become tight against the finished side of the board. the long the piece the tighter it gets. the blade and fence seem to be parallel. but some thing is misaligned. The piece of wood jams in between the fence and the blade at the back of the blade. Tried to adjust the two 10 mm bolts but that didn't help. The fence is perfectly square with the miter gauge slot. When I move the fence to the blade, the fence hits the back of the blade with a 3/16 inch gap remaining at the front of the blade. I thought these saws were calibrated at the factory. Can someone help?

Ok yep your blade is out of alignment with the fence. It is closer to the fence at the rear than the front. You need to make the modification or adjustment to your fence, if it allows that, and then worry about the miter slots later (which should be adjusted miter slot to blade, not miter slot to fence). You might be able to adjust the miter slot to blade by moving the actual table and then securing witht he table mount bolts. Check your manual for how to align the fence. You do want to fix that though as it can be potentially dangerous and result in kickback of the workpiece which is a rather SCARY thing, and very dangerous.

I'm missing a ''tilt'' set screw on my Craftsman 10 inch table saw

I couldn't find that model Sears saw to confirm, but if yours is like mine (113.298720), then the handle on the right causes the saw trunion to swivel left and right. And there is a locking hex-head bolt on the front of the saw up close to the underside of the table. This bolt locks the trunion in place keeping it from swivelling. Take a look at the following diagram http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/P0908018-00004.png part 22 is the shaft that tilts the blade Part 30 is the bolt that locks it in place part 29 is the handle part 28 is the spring that holds the handle on the locking bolt

Blade Height How can i know what is the best blade Height for my DW744S 10" table saw?

Basic saw safety dictates that the blade should barely clear the thickness of the material being sawed. This has saved my fingers more than once, Also, make sure you use a push stick for thin rips. They are a lot easier to replace than fingers, and are easily made from scrap stuff. As for the blade diameter, you want to use a 10" blade, but on occasion a smaller blade can be used, just be sure the arbor doesn't rub against the bottom of the table. Dado blades for 10" saws are usually only about 8" in diameter.

Have a craftsman 10 inch table saw model #137.218250, serial #RCW3145. When we attempt to cut plywood or a 2X4 length ways, the motor dies a number of times. Most of the time the reset button will not work unless we first unplug the electric. It will cut a short distance then die. This is with a very slow feed. We used an older table saw and it worked fine so know our feed is not the problem. Do you know the answer to the situation?

Sounds like the reset button needs replaced. Also when is the last time you cleaned the motor area?? When you reset the button is the motor "hot" to the touch and if so could also be a motor problem,, try the reset first

Cutting 45's on my Dewalt 744

I don't know why it's rubbing, did you try the small one to see if it is different in some way? How about the stop screw, is it 45 degrees or more? Check it with your speed square. And yes, make a custom plate out of plywood. Which way does the blade tilt? Left is best, locking your work against the fence is the worst idea I have ever seen, (delta) It sounds like the big plate is for a dado blade.

I am not having much luck with blade alignment on my delta model 36-650 table saw. I have all the factory components that the saw came with. The 10 inch blade rubs on the table insert on the far right side. This saw has never been used since purchased. Thanks

Check that the washers on the motor shaft are positioned properly. I believe the washers are dish shaped one should be on each side of the blade with the wide shoulder aginst the blade. Check this. Also if you go to Deltaportercable.com you can get an owners manuel for free on line. If this was helpful, please leave feedback. Thanks, Snugglepants

Blade Adjustment 10 inch Dayton commercial table saw: the blade is not square to the track guides. ie: the in-feed (front) is almost a 1/4 inch closer to the right guide:: and the out-feed (back) is closer to the left guide. the blade is not bent and the spindle is not bent. I do not have a manual so at this time I have not tried to make any adjustments. This was a low useage machine when I recived it

If you mean the fence it is adjustable , if not the fence please clarify
