Worm gear not engaging

I cannot raise or lower my table saw. the worm gear is not engaging. I am looking for a manul for the Rockler model TCS-203 table saw manufactured in the '50's

How do I adjust the worm gear on my table saw?

I believe that that model of Powermatic has a lock for the blade angle that also extends and retracts the casters for moving the saw. You may have unlock or change the handle position to allow for blade angle adjustment. You can get a manual or information at the Powermatic website to show you how to change the settings on the saw. Hope that helps.

Why isn't power getting transferred to saw blade?

Look for a shear pin in one of the gears that has done it's job and has prevented mass destruction of a gear by shearing off. Find the gear that is attached to the shaft that drives the blade and see if you can turn I while holding onto the shaft
