How do you unlock 10" ryobi miter saw ? - Ryobi ZRTS1342L Factory-Reconditioned 14 Amp, 10" Compound Miter Saw with L

When you are facing the saw look on the right hand side in the area where the arm pivots. There will be a silver shaft with a groove just in front and slightly lower than the pivot. If you hold down slightly on the handle and pull out on this shaft it will allow the arm to lift up. Locking the arm down is reverse. The spring in the back of my small mitre saw broke, so it cant' do the self return to safe position and just falls. I bought a new one, but haven't a clue how to put it back in, looks easy but it's not. Seems like the screw thingys on the side have to be co-ordinated or something. Can you email me a diagram to follow please? Tried all sorts of positions since 7am, going crazy!! Patty

It is as easy as it looks, you just need a second person to hold the weight and keep it in position while you drive the pin through. I've been in your shoes and tried all sorts of ways to hold it up and counter balance it, but in the end a second set of hands is the best solution.

How do i put the gaurd back on the saw.

Hi Luigi If you have all the parts and screws you can use this diagram to help re-install the guard.  -Place the guard in position first and snug the the mounting screw.  -Place the lift bar making sure the curve points upward and is attached to the guards mounting plate as shown in the diagram and snug the screws. -once all the screws are snug test to see if the guard operates properly then tighten all the screws and bobs yer uncle  -That's Aussie for your finished. Good luck.

I have the blade bolt off of my ryobi miter saw but the blade wont come off of the spindle

Tap the blade on the back side to loosen it off. The wood sap has probably dried out and is acting like a glue on the back flange washer.

Changing the saw blade on a Ryobi Mitre saw

There may be a push button type blade lock, and on many of these saws the retaining bolt for the blade is backwards threads, e.i., looking at the top of blade retaining bolt, turn it clockwise to loosen. This would normally tighten, but in the case of many of these saws, it loosens it.
