No to square craftsman table saw mod 137 blade to table

I lost my book on Model# 137.248830 Craftsman table saw. Trying to remember how to square the blade to the table. I have it mounted on a Craftsman stand w/sawdust bag. Do I have to disconnect it from the stand to get at the adjustment? BP

Table Saw Blade Won't Cut Straight

Inside the saw, on the end of the trunnion is a stop that is adjustable to zero the saw in to exactly 90 degrees. Either there is sawdust or something accumulated there or it needs to be adjusted. You say you cleaned it out, So you'll need to unplug it an have a look up in there. See how there's a geared piece of steel that moves when you crank the saw over to 45 degrees. Usually there's a bolt or stud with a locking nut on it, either on the trunnion itself or the lower surface of the table top. You need to break the nut loose and screw the bolt in or out to adjust, then crank the saw over to hit it, check for square with a known square, crank it all the way out of the way and readjust, etc. Until you get it right. Make sure to tighten that lock nut when you're done. I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

Re furbish old Craftsman 10'' table saw

It all depends on how much patience you have. It will cut ok, if you feed slowly and use a rip blade to rip with instead of a combination blade. (Buy one with only 36 teeth or 40 teeth). A sharp blade is always a lot easier and safer to use than that old rusty thing that is trying to grind its way through a piece of 2X. Another tip you might try is to put a coat of paste wax on the blade before you start. It will help if there's a lot of pitch building up as you cut. Otherwise, more hp will be less likely to bog down and overheat, and will allow you to push through denser and harder woods without the danger of overpowering the motor. But even then, a sharp rip blade is a wonder and a joy to use!

I have a craftsman table saw model 137.248830 and the blade is out of square with the miter. How do I adjust it?

You should have 4 bolts holding the trunnion on to the table, just loosen these bolts up a little, tap the trunnion with a hammer, the right way, put a straightedge on the blade fully extended and measure across the table to a dado slot, front and rear, tap it till it is exact, tighten bolts and check again. This should do it. You can check your fence the same way. hope this helps.

The blade isnot square with table - Craftsman 10" Table Saw

You can adjust the trunnion assembly from the bottom side of the table. Most saws have 6 bolts that bolt to bottom of top. if you loosen all six bolts then shift as nessessary to align to top top, then retighten the bolts. The holes in the trunnion assembly brackets should be oblong to allow this ajustment, Jim
