Replacing the blade on a Makita 255mm miter saw

I have an Irwin replacement blade plus the 3 washers that come in the pack to go on a Makita 255 miter saw that was bladeless when I got it. Where and in what order do the washers go? Do I place 1 of the 2 'narrow' washers, with the slight burr around the edge, within the centre hole of the blade itself, place the new blade in position over the centre drive, add the wider washer and then apply the centre bolt? Appreciate your assistance

Replacing the blade on a Makita 255mm miter saw

I take it you have both flanges and the washer that is behind the innner flange, if not stop there and you need to get them. As far as the blade goes it depends on what size arbor it has. You would need to use the washer that goes on the spindle with no play (movement) and put the blade on the washer I would not use a washer that is thicker than the blade. Put the outer flange on making sure of the direction and then the blade bolt LH thread. Let me know if you have any problems before starting the saw PLEASE and I will help more.

I need to replace the saw blade on my Makita Mitre saw. I'm wondering if the righty tighty/lefty loosey rule applies. The nut is really tight and my husband does not remember which way he turned it to loosen it the last time he replaced the blade. Nor does he want to ask anyone. Me, I'm not proud I just want the saw blade replaced so I can get the baseboard done. Thanks

To change the blade turn it to the right hand to loosen and turning it to the left will tighten. It is a reverse thread. I hope this helps, :)

Unable to lift the saw blade Makita Miter Saw

Look at the pivot point on the rear of the miter saw for the push/pull locking pin. The pin is there so you can lock the saw in the down position for easier carrying. To unlock the saw, simply pull the locking pin out (Makita calls this the "stopper pin"). Then you can use the saw and easily raise and lower it for cutting. As you might find it helpful to have, I have included a link from the Makita web site for a free copy of the owners manual that you can print or save for future use and reference. It has some handy info on use and care of your saw. http://makita.com/en-us/Assets/images/Products/LS1030N/owners_manuals/LS1030N.pdf Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

How do I assemble the blade guard for my Makita Miter Saw Model LS1030? I accidentally disassembled the guard it when changing to a new saw blade. I cant figure out how to get the tension spring back in place. Thanks, Winifred

Lay the spring into the plastic safety cover, you will see a catch for one portion of the spring, the cover plate goes over it and there is a tab on it to catch the loose end and then the center plate which screws on to hold everything in place, check by turning the plate that holds it onto the saw for free movement. You can go to makitausa.com and in the header area on the right type in your model number ls1030n and you can download or look at a breakdown to see what I am talking about. Let me know if you need more assistance, just found your question.
